Academic Rodeo Scholarships

The Park of East Texas Academic Rodeo awards six middle school scholarships and five high school scholarships yearly. Funds are held for the student until the student graduates from high School

Application Deadline: Designated date in February of the contest year. Postmark dates do not apply. See Academic Rodeo Scholarships for dates, procedures, and forms.

Eligibility: Middle school (grades 6-8) or High School (grades 9-12) students who placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in one of the Academic Rodeo contests in the current year.

East Texas State Fair Scholarship

Application Deadline: Priority deadline is March 1 - Applicants apply to Tyler Junior College - www.tjc.edu/scholarships.

Eligibility:
* Must be a graduating senior from local public, private, or home school organizations.
* Must be accepted at Tyler Junior College to apply - If not already admitted, the student can apply for admission online at www.tjc.edu/apply.

College or University Requirements: Must attend Tyler Junior College and register for a minimum of 12 semester hours.

Major Requirements: None

Award Amount: $1,500 per year (paid at $750 per semester) with possible renewal for a second year, bringing total award potential to $3,000.

Distribution of Award: The scholarships are distributed annually with half of the designated amount paid in the fall and spring semesters when eligibility is maintained. The scholarship may be renewed for a second year for recipients meeting eligibility requirements.

To Maintain Eligibility: Recipients must complete at least 12 credit hours per semester and maintain a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.



East Texas Cattle-Ettes Scholarship

Application Deadline: April 30

Eligibility: Scholarships are granted to graduating seniors from the East Texas area.

College or University Requirements: Not limited to a specific college, but must register for 12 semester hours.

Major Requirements: None

Award Amount: The amount will be determined each year by the board of directors.

Texas Fairs & Events Association Scholarship

Application Deadline: April 1 - Application must be received in The Park of East Texas office by this date to be considered as a possible nominee by The Park of East Texas for this scholarship award.

Eligibility: Scholarships are granted to graduating Texas high schools students attending an accredited college or university the following semester. Student must have participated actively in an event of The Park of East Texas, including the East Texas State Fair and Academic Rodeo.


Procedures: Applications are submitted to The Park of East Texas Scholarship Committee. One applicant may be selected from those received to represent the organization and be submitted to Texas Association of Fairs and Events for consideration of their scholarship award.



East Texas Farm & Ranch Club Scholarship

Application Deadline: Postmarked by April 16

Eligibility: Scholarships are granted to graduating east Texas high schools students


College or University Requirements: Accredited college or university.

Major Requirements: An agriculture discipline.

Award Amount: $1,000 divided equally between two consecutive semesters.

To Maintain Eligibility: Recipient must maintain a minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA and register for a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester to receive forthcoming awards.
